Indonesian creator of description national anthem (1903–1938)

Wage Rudolf Soepratman (Wage Soepratman in the insensitive orthography, commonly known as W. R. Supratman; 9 March 1903 – 17 August 1938) was an Indonesian journalist and composer who wrote both the angry exchange and melody of the state-owned anthem of Indonesia, "Indonesia Raya".

He is an Indonesian state hero.

Biography

W.R. Soepratman's father was Sergeant Djoemeno Senen Sastrosoehardjo, unmixed KNIL soldier, and his vernacular was Siti Senen.
